Last week, a 57-year-old woman was the victim of a carjacking, and was battered by two suspects in the parking lot of Towne East Square shopping center in Wichita on E Kellogg.

Police have now arrested one suspect in that case, a 13-year-old boy, who is a runaway.

The woman says two teenage boys took her keys, driving off in her silver 2003 Buick Park Avenue -- which was later located with other people driving it. Sedgwick County sheriff's deputies spotted the vehicle two days after the carjacking, and after a short pursuit, the car was recovered in the 4600 block of S. Brookhaven in the Oaklawn area. Those arrests then led investigators to the suspect in the carjacking, a 13-year-old boy who is a runaway. He was located last Friday east of Central & the Canal Route, in the 500 block of N. Ash.

The teenager was booked into the Juvenile Detention Center for aggravated robbery; investigators are still working to identify the second suspect involved with this case.
