Final primary election figures are coming out. Brian Caskey is director of elections for the Kansas Secretary of State's office.

"The final turnout numbers were 487598 for 27.1 percent turnout," said Caskey. "That is the highest turnout since 2004, both by votes and by percentage."

Caskey says Kansas set a record in 2018 for advance voting, by a considerable margin.

"At least 106,267 people voted prior to election day.  This is greater by 16,000 over any previous election."
