Three men were arrested Tuesday in connection to a broad daylight residential robbery near 31st street South and Seneca.

Officer Charlie Davidson says 3 men entered a home around 1 PM, displayed a handgun and demanded property and cash. After getting an undisclosed amount, they fled in a Chevy Equinox.

Responding officers spotted the car near Pawnee and Broadway and attempted to pull it over, leading police on a short chase to the 2600 block of South Minnesota where the men fled the vehicle. They were captured a short distance away without incident.

During the pursuit, officers witnessed the suspects throwing a backpack from the vehicle. It was discovered that the bag contained "more than a personal use" amount of marijuana.

Officer Davidson says investigators believe the robbery occurred over a drug transaction.

The suspects are identified as 20 year-old Dorius Jackson, 19 year-old Jaylin Young, and 23 year-old Devontice Joe, all of Wichita.

A pellet gun was found near the vehicle but it's not know if it played any part in the crime.

The case is still an active investigation.
