Butler County sheriff's deputies have announced that a 3-month-old girl is dead after the baby's mother accidentally left her in a vehicle.
The incident happened in a rural part of the county off of SW 160th.
Deputies say that the little girl's mother was feeling tired after arriving back to her home and went inside her home to take a nap.
After realizing she left the baby behind, deputies report the mother rushed back out to the vehicle and found the child unresponsive. She immediately brought the child into the house and called 9-1-1.
The baby was pronounced dead shortly before 4:30 p.m.
Three other children were at the home at the time of the incident.
