Boeing customers canceled orders for five dozen 737 Max jets last month; the plane has been grounded since March 2019 following a pair of fatal crashes. Most of the cancellations were from companies leasing planes to airlines.

Boeing has lost more than 300 orders for planes this year, and the company removed another 461 orders from its backlog.

Boeing still has an order backlog in excess of 4,500 airplanes, but that backlog has decreased by nearly 16% so far this year.

Wichita-based Spirit AeroSystems provides several components for the 737 MAX.
