Police have made an arrest, following a case of aggravated battery in the southwest part of Wichita.

Before 2:00 a.m. Wednesday, officers on patrol spotted a vehicle parked at Pawnee Prairie Park, near Pawnee & Maize Road. They made contact with a man in the car, 33-year-old Austin Hinojos; officers discovered he had multiple arrest warants, and they tried to take him into custody; he did not comply, and resisted arrest.

There was a physical struggle during the arrest, and one officer suffered a leg injury. Hinojos was found to be in possession of multiple knives, methamphetamine, and metal knuckles; he was booked on several charges, including aggravated battery, weapons violations, and drug possession.
