Alzheimer's Walk at WSU a success

Hundreds gathered at Wichita State University on Saturday to raise money to fight Alzheimer's disease.

United States Senator Jerry Moran was on hand for Saturday's Alzheimer's Walk. He believes that medical research is one of the most important investments than the government can make in coming up with a cure. He said that spending on Alzheimer's research has increased by $2 billion dollars per year during the last four years. Moran added that the right resources can lead to a cure.

Many of the attendees Saturday had either lost loved ones to the disease or have relatives living with it. stated the funds raised through the Alzheimer's Walk goes toward care, support and research efforts of the nonprofit Alzheimer's Association.
