This is National Police Week, part of which is remembering those who gave their lives while on-duty.

During the past 138 years, 30 members of law enforcement have died in the line-of-duty in Sedgwick County, including nine sheriff's deputies, 19 officers from Wichita, one from Derby, and one from Clearwater.

The annual Law Enforcement Memorial Service begins at 10:00 a.m. Friday in downtown Wichita at City Hall in the city council chambers, followed by more ceremonies outside at the Law Enforcement Memorial at Central & Main.
