Arkansas City man accused of battering a police officer

An Arkansas City man is in jail accused of battering a police officer. According to the Ark City Police Department, 36-year-old Randy Modou was booked into jail after a domestic disturbance earlier this week.

Officers were called to an apartment complex after receiving a report of  a physical disturbance. When they arrived, they found a woman who had been attacked. 

A short time later, police received a report that the person suspected of attacking the woman was hiding in the area.  A physical fight between an officer and the suspect ensued. The police officer subdued him and took him into custody.

Randy Modou was booked on one count of battery of a law enforcement officer and one count each of domestic battery and interference with law enforcement.

He is held on a $5,000 bond.
