Arkansas City PD, City Hall evacuated after possible pipe bomb brought to police

ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. (KSNW) - The Arkansas City Police Department and City Hall was evacuated and closed Friday after a concerned citizen brought a possible bomb to police.
The person who brought the pipe bomb said it was found while cleaning a rental property.
According to a spokesperson with Arkansas City, Central Avenue is blocked off from Summit to 1st Street.
Authorities are asking residents to avoid the area until further notice.
The Wichita Police Department has sent their bomb squad to the area to assist with the situation.
The area had been evacuated.
