Wichita police have made an arrest in a shooting that happened Tuesday on the city's South side.

Police say 59 year-old Richard Fagan has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a felon, and an outstanding warrant.

Investigators say he approached a 36 year-old man and a 25 year-old woman in a wooded area near Hydraulic and I-135 and shot the man with a shotgun after a verbal dispute.

The three were homeless and staying in the area.

Fagan was located and taken into custody without incident.

Police say this was not a random incident.
