Fireworks are cosidered one of the hallmarks of a great Independence Day celebration, but for others, those loud noises can bring back some tough memories.

For veterans, hearing fireworks shot off can bring back memories of their days in combat.  They are obviously aware that the 4th of July is nearing and are mentally preparing for the loud sounds and booms. The really hard part is when random fireworks are shot off outside of the designated times.

One of the best way to help those struggling with PTSD during the fourth of July is simply to follow firework guidelines set forth by the city.

These brave men and women fought wars and saw terrible atrocities so that Americans could have the freedom to live and celebrate.
