Burglary Suspect Leads Police on Chase

WICHITA, Kan. (KNSS) - Wichita police officers were attempting to arrest a 38 year old man Wednesday morning when he took off in a pickup that he was accused of stealing.

The incident began at about 10:00 AM in the 2100 block of south Rock Road. The suspect was being arrested on burglary and auto theft charges when he drove off in the truck, striking a police cruiser twice.

He led police on a chase that ended near 21st and Cranbrook, when the suspect struck a utility pole, at which time he was apprehended.

Police Sgt. Nikki Woodrow said the suspect was booked for aggrevated assault of a law enforcement officer, possession of stolen property, resisting arrest, criminal damage to property, possession of meth, auto theft, and numerous traffic charges.

Woodrow said noone was injured in the incident.
