Wichita Police made an arrest of a suspect of a car theft on the same day the incident occurred.

On Tuesday July 10th, a 46 year-old woman reported her car was stolen from the Sunflower Community Action building in the 1700 block of North Ash. Later that day she reported seeing the car near 17th and Hillside.

Police located the car near 27th and Chautauqua and attempted to stop it when the driver fled. A short chase ended in the 3100 block of East Ethel.

Officer Charley Davidson says the driver ran from the car, but his 34 year-old female passenger was arrested and booked on several charges.

About 10:30 that evening an officer was patrolling near 13th and Hillside when he observed a man matching the description of the suspect. The officer arrested the man when an investigation showed him to be the suspect of the chase.

The 39 year-old man was arrested for criminal deprivation of a motor vehicle, evading police, possession of drug paraphenalia, and traffic charges.
