Celebrating the work of outstanding people in the Wichita community

November 14, 2019 - 10:54 pm

National Philanthropy Day is Friday.  It's a chance to recognize and pay tribute to people in the community who are helping to make a difference.

The Wichita Chapter is celebrating those who have been selected during a luncheon today the Hyatt Regency hosted by Steve and Ted from KNSS.

Yolanda and Gene Camarena are being recognized as this year's Outstanding Philanthropist.  Gene says sometimes it just takes a little of your time to make an impact.

"Your time and your talent, in our opinion, are the most precious thing you can share." says Gene Camarena.  "We see it over and over, from young kids who come from tough environments.  All they need is a little direction, a little encouragement, and a little support.  And it's amazing what they can accomplish," he adds.
