October 17, 2018 - 11:35 pm

A case of road-rage has left a child, 4, hospitalized after shots were fired into the SUV he was riding in.  It happened around 5:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon near 10th and Topeka.  Wichita Police Chief Gordon Ramsay says the driver of a blue Chevy Tahoe with two adults and six children, apparently cut off a silver Mustang, and that's when shots rang out.

"The vehicles traveled to 1200, (block of), Topeka, and there was two shots that were fired," Ramsey said.

One of the children in the SUV was hit in the stomach, and the Mustang fled the scene.

Chief Ramsey says officers located and stopped the vehicle.  Police were interviewing those who were in the car. Anyone with information is asked to call police.

The boy remains hospitalized in critical but stable condition.
