The Wichita City Council approved design funding for three capital improvement program projects.

$500 thousand has been allocated for the Amidon Bridge project at the Arkansas River in northwest Wichita. That work is scheduled for 2022, although at this point the city does not know if the bridge will be reconstructed or replaced.

A total of $675 thousand will go toward two projects on West Street from I-235 to MacArthur Road, and from MacArthur Road to 47th Street South. The work is slated for 2024 and 2025 respectively.

The council also approved $600 thousand to construct and furnish the National Baseball Congress Baseball Museum at Riverfront Stadium in downtown Wichita. EBY Construction, who built the stadium, will oversee the project.

Finally, rehabilitation work will continue on the fuel facility at Eisenhower Airport, which was originally built in 1954. The cumulative amount of the project will total $2.645 million.
