The City of Wichita has closed down McLean Boulevard from Meridian to Seneca. It's a month-long project to replace aging water valves ... part of an on-going upgrade for the city's infrastructure. Mayor Jeff Longwell tells KNSS News the city no longer has any lead water pipes. He says the valves being replaced are 65 years old. The mayor says the city has made "significant upgrades" in the infrastructure and put in "some massive new sewer mains".

Longwell commented during Mondays with the Mayor on the Steve and Ted in the Morning Show on KNSS.
