Back in late March, city of Wichita employee Jeffrey Weeks was mowing near the Arkansas River downtown, when he saw a man throw a woman on to the ground and punching her.

Weeks began honking his horn, destracting the suspect and allowing the victim to escape; police officers soon arrived in the area, arresting the suspect.

Weeks was presented with an outstanding citizens plaque by Wichita Deputy Police chief Anna Hatter; Weeks has been an employee for the city of Wichita for eight years.
