Clearwater man killed in Coffey County traffic accident

The accident happened Sunday morning near Burlington

A Sedgwick County man is dead after a 3-vehicle traffic accident in Coffey County Sunday. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol it happened just after 10 a.m. 7 miles south of Burlington.  The KHP says a pickup truck rear-ended a car and then wound up in the oncoming lane and was hit head-on by a semi truck. 

The driver of the pickup truck, 80-year-old William Castle of Clearwater, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.  The driver of the car was taken to Coffey County Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  The semi driver was uninjured.
