"Closed Captioning Glasses" help those with hearing difficulties enjoy movies

Regal Cinemas recently introduced a new piece of technology aimed at helping people who are deaf or hearing-impaired go to the movies and enjoy the film.

That technology is called ‘Closed Captioning Glasses’ and they do just that!

For those with hearing impairments, the glasses are an answer to prayer--now they can go to the movies with everyone else and not have to wait for the DVD to come out with closed captioning.

The glasses sync wirelessly to a computer that is following the script of the movie. The glasses then project the script of the movie, line by line, onto the bottom of the lens on the glasses.

The Regal Cinemas at West 21st Street have about a dozen pairs of the glasses available; on any given day they're requested at least eight times.
