Sedgwick County commissioners will discuss their ethical conduct

November 13, 2018 - 2:16 pm

Sedgwick County commissioners meet Wednesday to discuss the issue of ethical conduct by the members of the commission. Last week, the commission met in special session to take up the issue of conduct by County Counselor Eric Yost.  They voted 4 to 1 to suspend Yost for allegedly violating attorney-client privilege, and named deputy county counselor Karen Powell as interim county attorney. Wednesday, they’ll discuss a resolution setting out a code of ethical conduct for themselves.  The resolution comes after reports of an FBI investigation into whether the board illegally tried to fire county manager Michael Scholes for cooperating with the FBI.  The meeting starts at 9 am in the county courthouse, and is open to the public.
