There are multiple crime scenes in the west part of Wichita, involving three suspects and multiple stolen vehicles.

Before 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, police were alerted to the presence of a stolen white Jeep SUV in the northwest part of Wichita. That stolen car was in the drive-thru lane of the McDonald's at 21st & Amidon.

Police officer Paul Cruz says officers attempted to take the suspects into custody, but the driver of the stolen Jeep drove at one of the officers, who fired gunshots at the vehicle. The suspects hit a woman's car in the parking lot.

The suspects sped away to the north, eventually crashing near 29th & Meridian.

One woman was arrested at that location, but two male suspects escaped, car-jacking an elderly woman and man in a Honda CRV, forcing them to drive south.

Law enforcement ended up pursuing one of the suspects in that car, and he was apprehended southwest of Wichita near K-42 & 167th Street West.

The doors were locked at McLean Elementary, Cloud Elementary and Pleasant Valley elementary and middle schools, as the search continues for the other male suspect.
