A crime spree led to a pair of arrests early Thursday evening in the west part of Wichita.

The first victim was a 24-year-old woman; she was sitting in her car with the window down outside the Best Buy near Kellogg & Dugan, when a suspect approached her. He pointed two black handguns at her, demanding her keys, cell phone, and wallet. She did not comply, but quickly put the car in reverse and backed away, and the suspect was not able to steal any of her items. She says she heard a "pop" sound, as if someone had fired a shot, and she says the suspect was in a light-colored Chevy Impala.

As police were investigating that case, another call came in of a carjacking outside the Lowe's Home Improvement store at Kellogg & Ridge, where a man with a gun had stolen a pickup truck belonging to a 55-year-old woman. Officers soon tracked down the stolen truck, stopping it on Maple Street west of the Big Ditch, and arresting the 27-year-old suspect. The suspect's original car, the Impala, was found outside Lowe's, with a 34-year-old woman inside.

The man and woman were both arrested for aggravated robbery, auto theft, possession of a firearm by a felon, aggravated assault, larceny from a vehicle, and shoplifting.
