The Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office has opened an investigation into an attack ad involving lawmakers. A lawsuit claims Sedgwick County Commissioner Michael O’Donnell, Wichita City Council Member James Clendenin, and Rep. Michael Capps attempted to defame Mayor Brandon Whipple by creating a false attack ad during his run for mayor last year. Sedgwick County Commission Chair Pete Meitzner tells KNSS News the commission has no power to remove commissioner O'Donnell from the bench ... but there is a way to remove someone from office. He says a law enforcement finding of misconduct could result in an "ouster" hearing before a judge, and the offender could be removed from office.

Meitzner says he is "pleased that the legal process is involved".  Meitzner commented on the Steve and Ted in the Morning Show on KNSS.
