Data breach threatens customers of Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen

August 24, 2018 - 5:17 am

Darden Restaurants was notified by federal authorities that a point-of-sale system at certain Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen restaurants may have been compromised in a cyberattack incident involving restaurants in 23 states, including Kansas.

Officials believe that credit card information of as many as 567,000 customers who visited the affected restaurants between Nov. 3, 2017 and Jan. 2, 2018, may have been exposed. Anyone who dined at a Cheddar's location around that time frame is encouraged to call 888-258-7280 for more information about the identity protection services available to them. A website was also created to help those affected at https://ide.myidcare.com/cheddars.

Darden activated a response plan and engaged a third-party forensic cybersecurity firm to investigate.
