Deadline day for registering to vote in the upcoming primary election

Deadline to register, and to change registry information

Today is the deadline to register to vote in the upcoming primary election on Aug. 7th.  KSN News spoke with Sedgwick County Election Commissioner Tabitha Lehman who says it isn't just a deadline for those who haven't registered.

"If you have changed your name or you have moved and have an updated address," said Lehman, "those would be things you need to get taken care of prior to deadline. If you miss that deadline you can still go to the polling place and vote a provisional ballot.  So its a good idea to get that taken care of now, it will save you time when going to the polling place and it will save you taxpayer money with processing that ballot after election day."
