Wichita State University, WSU Tech and Butler Community College are in talks to bring a new culinary arts program in downtown Wichita, though all have stressed that nothing has been agreed upon.

On May 14th, the Wichita City council approved a memorandum of understanding with Douglas Market Development, LLC for the development of the Kansas Health Science Center.  The $75 million complex will also include student housing and a hotel.  The project will create 324 new jobs, with an average wage of $55,000 per year.  The city and developer will negotiate the development agreement, which will be presented to the council within 120 days. This project is expected to begin next year and open by August 2022.
