Wichita Police responded to a disturbance call with shots fired Tuesday at around 2:00 PM in the 800 block of South Terrace.

Upon arrival, officers noticed the home had multiple gunshots fired into it.

Police interviewed the occupants of the home, a 20 year-old female and an 18 year-old male who told them the home had been shot at, but no one was injured.

Officers determined the woman had actually been shot in the abdomen. She was taken to a hospital and treated for non life-threatening injuries and released.

A witness gave police a description of the suspect, who was arrested a short time later. He is identified as 23 year-old Trystin Cowling. He is charged with disturbance and criminal discharge of a firearm into a dwelling.

Officer Kevin Wheeler says police believe the incident is drug related. He says the couple has not cooperated with the investigation very well.
