A 30-year-old woman was arrested in E. Wichita for the attempted abduction of a child. It happened early Thursday afternoon at the Burlington Coat Factory east of Kellogg & Rock.

A 28-year-old woman reports the suspect approached her, asking if she would call police if she took her daughter. She says the suspect then grabbed her four-year-old girl by the arm and began to walk away. The mother says she then took back her little girl, left the store, and called 911.

The little girl was not injured. During the investigation, officers were informed that the suspect may have a mental disability which may have played a role in this incident.

The suspect was booked into jail on a charge of attempted kidnapping.
