The Wichita Police Department has arrested a 39-year-old male suspect on one charge of kidnapping.

At approximately 12:00 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to an abduction call at the White Glove Inn at 11430 W. Kellogg. Upon arrival, officers contacted a 30-year-old woman, who reported her eight-year-old daughter and the little girl's eight-year-old cousin were playing outside the inn.

An unknown male contacted the woman's daughter, pulling her into a storage shed against her will.  The girl screamed for help, and the suspect ran away.

Officers arrested the suspect at his residence in the 1200 block of N. Indiana shortly after midnight Monday without incident, and booked him into jail. Investigators believe he was a lawn-maintenance worker in the area when the incident occurred.

The case will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office.
