Emergency crews respond to several overnight calls

It was a busy night for first responders. 

Two people were shot in south Wichita at around 11:45 Saturday night in the 2800 block of south Emporia.  One man is dead and a woman was injured.  Both victims are in their early 20s, with the woman suffering a gunshot wound to her abdomen.  At last check that woman was in surgery.

Wichita Police say one of the victim's wounds was self-inflicted.

Wichita Fire crews responded to several fire calls.  The first call came from the 300 block of south Exposition Street in Delano.  One person was seriously injured and treated for smoke inhalation.

Another blaze was reported east of Goddard, in the 15000 block of west Highview Drive, near Kellogg and west 151st Street.  Fire was visible on the exterior of the building as crews arrived.

In southeast Wichita near Mt. Vernon and Lulu, fire was visible coming through the roof of a structure there.

Just before 12:30 this morning, there was a rollover accident on southbound I-235, between Seneca & MacArthur.  Several people reported hearing the accident from their backyards, with 7 to 8 loud bangs as the truck rolled.

Around 3 a.m. Sunday, an injury accident was reported in the 13000 block of west 21st St, near the Northwest YMCA.

And finally, just before 5 a.m., an injury accident was reported in the 1600 block of south Wichita Street.  A homeowner called 911 to say a car drove into her house.
