Family of cancer patient has SUV stolen from Ronald McDonald House

A family staying at the Ronald McDonald house in Wichita for a boy's cancer treatments has had their SUV stolen right out of the parking lot.

The theft of the 2012 Chevy Traverse is causing more headaches for a family already dealing with a lot.

Layd'n Hinderliter was diagosed with stage 4 cancer, and has tumors throughout his body. He receives radiation treatments in Wichita.

The family has been staying at the Ronald McDonald House -- a home away from home for families with sick children, but, apparently, thieves don't care about that.

The Wichita non-profit's CEO, Susan Smythe, is heartbroken over what's happened. She is shocked and angry that someone would take advantage of a family like this.

The vehicle is a white SUV with a broken undercarriage and also has a red nose on the front. If you see the vehicle, please call police.
