Fatal crash in southwest Kansas

One woman is dead after a crash on in Meade County.  It happened before 10 a.m. Monday on U.S. 54 east of the the Meade/Seward County line.  According to the Kansas Highway Patrol a car westbound pulled over on to the shoulder, then attempted to pull back out onto the roadway and was hit by a westbound semi truck.  

The driver of the car, 48-year-old Wendy Torres of Plains, Kansas, was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver of the semi, a 60-year-old Wichita man went to Meade County Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
