An apartment building in the north part of Wichita suffered damage, and one of its residents has been arrested.

At about 5:30 a.m. Monday, police and fire crews were called to Calvary Towers apartments at 25th & Grove, where somebody lit a firework that exploded in the lobby, causing damage. A resident of the building, a 55-year-old man, was arrested about an hour later for aggravated arson, and destruction to property.

This was not the only fireworks case of the day. Later on Monday morning, a 73-year-old woman reported fireworks damage at her residence near Maple & Tyler, in the 400 block of S. Evergreen.
