Five injured in Reno County crash

Five people were injured in a crash on U.S. 50 in Reno County.  It happened just after 4 p.m. Tuesday, 3 miles west of Burrton, Kan.  

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol a pickup truck attempted to pass a vehicle and struck an SUV head-on.  The driver of the pickup was taken to a Wichita hospital with serious injuries.  The driver and 3 passengers in the SUV were taken to the hospital with what were described as less serious injuries.  

The KHP notes the pickup driver was not wearing a seat belt while the occupants of the SUV were all buckled up.
