The potential for flooding remains high, as more rain continues to fall.  The roads in Wellington, closed overnight as a storm system moved trough.  Many areas overwhelmed by ground already saturated by earlier rains. I-35, the Kansas Turnpike, was closed south of Wellington for a time.

The National Weather Service reports water rescues in Rose Hill,  Mulvane, Augusta, and Hutchinson.  Seven cars of a train were blown over and derailed in Cowley County.  It happened as it was stopped, waiting for a storm to pass on US 77.  No injuries were reported. High water also reported in Pratt.

The town of Belle Plane was without power for a time as several power poles were knocked down in the storm.  Power was restored later in the evening.  Police there still report flooding in some of the low lying areas.

The National Weather Service reports just over an inch-and-six tenths of rain near Wichita's Eisenhower Airport over the last 24 hours. Mulvane has received close to five inches of rain, with 3 inches or more common to the south and east of Wichita.
