Former Wichita pitch-man/performer arrested on drug charges

A former TV ad-man and actor/dancer was arrested early Tuesday afternoon in the west part of Wichita, north of Maple & Ridge.

Police arrested 37-year-old Aaron Wirtz on charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, possession of heroin with intent to sell, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of a hallucinogenic with intent to sell, possession of non-narcotics with intent to sell, unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officers served a narcotics search warrant at a home in the 200 block of N. Summitlawn, stemming from an ongoing narcotics investigation. During the search, Wirtz was arrested without incident. Also inside the home, officers located a pound of methamphetamine, two ounces of heroin, narcotic pills, a mushroom grow operation, drug paraphernalia, and seized two handguns.

The search warrant was conducted in reference to information received on illegal drug sales at the home.

Wirtz was a past member of the ensemble cast at Music Theatre Wichita as an actor and dancer; he formed his own video production company, and for several years was known as the pitch-man for Super Car Guys on television and radio.
