One man was shot during a gang-involved shooting in the northeast part of Wichita, and two children were in the line-of-fire.

It happened early Saturday evening north of Oliver & Central, where police located a black Chevy Camaro which had damage from multiple bullets, and shell casings were found in the street near 8th & Pershing.

The man who had been inside that car showed up at Wesley Medical Center with multiple gunshot wounds; he is a 39-year-old gang-member and is expected to survive. Police investigators say this was not a random incident, and they are receiving little cooperation from the victim.
A nearby house also sustained damage from the gunfire; inside the house at the time were three people, including a three-year-old girl and a four-year-old girl.
