A teenage boy was arrested in the southwest part of Wichita, for allegedly pulling a gun on a group of a half-dozen girls.

After 4:00 p.m. Thursday, a school employee called police, reporting a disturbance at Woodman Elementary School east of Pawnee & Meridian. The school was placed on lockdown, and officers responded to the 2500 block of S. Hiram.

There was a verbal disturbance between a group of five males, and six females -- they all knew each other. They were walking from Truesdell Middle School to Woodman. During the disturbance, a 14-year-old boy pointed a handgun at the females in a neighborhood near the school.

The handgun was confiscated by police. The boy with the gun was arrested, charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm by a juvenile, and unlawful use of a weapon.
