Gunfire & domestic violence; arrest in S. Wichita

Police have arrested a 31-year-old Wichita man on one count of aggravated assault – domestic violence, two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of child endangerment, and threats.

On Tuesday afternoon, officers responded to a domestic-violence disturbance with gunshots fired at a home near Lincoln & Washington, in the 1000 block of S. Laura. Officers made contact with a 28-year-old female victim a couple of blocks away.

She said she was inside the house with her two sons, a seven-year-old and a one-year-old. The victim stated her boyfriend arrived home, was intoxicated, and became upset, wanting to find paperwork inside the home.

During the disturbance, the man fired a shotgun towards her and the children twice and made verbal threats.The female victim then left the home with the children and called 911.

The suspect also left the residence in a vehicle but was located by officers driving in the area of Pawnee & Washington, and was arrested.
