Hamilton county man dies in vehicle accident

One person has died in an accident just after 10:30 a.m. Friday in Hamilton County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2019 Chevy Silverado driven by 57-year old Garland Gould Smith of Syracuse was southbound on County Road Y three miles south of Kendall. His pickup crossed the center line and collided with a northbound 2012 Chevy Silverado driven by 40-year old Payton Cole Chambless of Kendall.
Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.
Several passengers from both vehicles were taken to local hospitals. The KHP reoports that none of the occupants in the collision were wearing seatbelts.
