Heavy rains cause flooding headaches for Kansans

Gove and Ellis counties hit especially hard

Heavy rains caused flash flooding in northwest Kansas... 

Warnings were being issued for Gove and Ellis counties where up to 2-inches of rain fell in a short amount of time. 

In Hays, emergency crews were blocking off the intersection of 13th and Oak due to flooding. Ellis County Emergency Management reports that some motorists were stranded in vehicles around the city. About a dozen homes in the Lincoln Draw area were flooded after water came overflowed the canal. 

No injuries were reported.
