“If it can be bought in Wichita, it can be shot in Wichita”

Firework shooting dates in Wichita are from July 27th through July 5th from 10 am to midnight. Allowed fireworks can shoot no higher than 6 feet and fireworks that are labeled as "shooting flaming balls" cannot be shot.

City officials say the rule is, “If it can be bought in Wichita, it can be shot in Wichita.”

Violation of Wichita’s firework laws can result in a $250 ticket. Adults can be cited for juveniles not following the ordinance. Property owners/occupants will be held responsible for violations of the ordinance on their property.

There will be increased enforcement focused on writing citations for violations and confiscating illegal fireworks.

The number for reporting non-emergency nuisances that do not pose a threat to life or property is 316-290-1011. And as always call 911 for any emergency.
