Dangerous flooding continues to impact south central Kansas.  In Mulvane, Fire-Rescue says they responded to ten storm related calls since Tuesday afternoon.

Nine of the calls were submerged vehicles, one was a tree caught in power lines.

One person was taken by EMS to a Wichita hospital.  Many of the calls were due to U.S. 81 and the Turnpike being closed at 119th street south.

U.S. 77 was closed north of Winfield to thru traffic due to high water.  Traffic is being detoured west on U.S. 160 to 21st, and then north to Udall.

To get to the Turnpike, traffic is routed west on U.S. 160 to the Wellington exchange.

Flooding has also forced evacuations from Peabody in Marion County.  Highway 50 was closed at Florence for a time due to high water.
