A Kansas Highway Patrol cruiser was struck while working a crash scene.  It happened Friday morning on I-235 and Kellogg in Wichita.

No one was injured in the crash, but its something troopers say happen all too often.

KSN News reports that investigators say a vehicle applied the brakes "too hard," and spun out of control, side swiping the patrol car.

Trooper Chad Crittenden, advises drivers to slow down in icy conditions in order to be able to stop or break in an emergency situation.  "If you have to drive 20 or 30 mph, that's just the speeds we got to take," Trooper Crittenden said.

During the morning commute, troopers responded to fourteen crashes due to icy roads.
