KHP troopers assisted 433 motorists on July 3rd & 4th

The Kansas Highway Patrol has released its Independence Day Holiday Activity Report; the KHP assisted 433 motorists during the holiday-reporting period. The reporting period for the holiday ran from 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 3, through 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. 

The Kansas Highway Patrol did not work any fatal crashes over the holiday. 

This year, troopers issued more than 500 speeding tickets, and issued another 286 speed warnings. The KHP also wrote 144 citations for adult seat-belt violations, 19 for child restraint, and for for teenagers. Troopers made three DUI arrests during the two-day period.
