Kansas jobless rate 3.4% in April

Wichita area unemployment 3.6%

The Kansas Department of Labor reports the state unemployment rate at 3.4 percent in April ... unchanged from March ... and down slightly from 3.6 percent in April of 2017. Nonfarm jobs increased by 2,200 over the month. The largest job gains were in trade, transportation and utilities, and professional and business services. The Wichita area jobless rate  was 3.6 in April ... down from 3.9 percent in March. The Wichita M-S-A includes Sedgwick, Butler, Harvey, Kingman, and Sumner counties.
