Kansas jobless rate down slightly in October

The Kansas Department of Labor reports the state's jobless rate at 3.5 percent in November ... down from 3.6 perecnt in October and 4.3 percent in November last year. Secretary Lana Gordon says "Kansas now has the largest number of people employed on record" at just over 1,435,000. The state gained 2,900 jobs over the last 12 months, mostly in construction and professional and business services. The four-county Wichita area jobless rate was 3.7 percent in November ... up from 3.4 percent in October. Employment was down by about 1,000 jobs for the month.
