Kansas Senate looking at increasing transparency

TOPEKA, Kan. - The Kansas Senate is pursuing additional transparency measures. The Kansas Information Network spoke with Kansas Senate President Susan Wagle.

"We think it's time to put an audio and video image up on the internet of the proceedings of the Kansas Senate," said Wagle. "We have to make some changes within the Senate floor to make sure we can wire that live feed, but we'll have that done by next January."

Wagle says the next step after that is to get audio streams in all the Senate committee rooms.  There are also no more anonymous bill introductions for measures introduced in the Kansas Senate.
